User Awareness in Requirements Analysis

Systems that work for multiple and diverse users Requirements analysis is a critical step in systems development: research has shown that errors introduced in this early stage of the system lifecycle greatly increase the development and maintenance costs of the system. Despite this, requirements analyses frequently make assumptions about users based on the developers’ own perspectives, thus incurring millions of dollars in support costs and lost productivity. This half-day workshop introduces developers to the fundamentals of understanding users who are culturally and socially diverse.
